Authentication Project Grows
There is a group of scientists who are currently interested in obtaining research and proposals from companies and individuals who would like to become involved in future authentication technology that would be used to create a different type of log in system that wouldn’t simply use traditional password entry and access cards utilized by government employees and would be something that involve various biometric types of identification which would access a person’s identity on a much more personal level.
The United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has suggested that the only true way to offer true protection of government files and programs is to create a much more secure way of authenticating users of various government systems. Some of the interesting types of government technology that may spring up in the future are methods that might actually analyze the movement of an individual when they are using a computer so as to identify whether that person is actually supposed to be accessing files.
The government agency currently researching such advanced techniques is likely also working to ensure that such technology won’t only be available to government agencies and that everyday users of computers and any system that otherwise needs to be secure can use highly advanced methods that utilize the actual features of a person himself to allow access to a particular system. Although the first style of such security systems might not be that advanced, it is likely something that the industry will be working to quickly achieve in the near future.
